The Temple Emanuel Food Bank distributes food and other items, on a weekly basis, to the needy of the Jewish community, as well as the needy of the local community. We assisted approximately 65 families this past year.

The funds to purchase the food and other items come from the Jewish Community Fund, the Temple Emanuel Food Bank Fund, donations from the Jewish community and other private contributions.

Food is purchased from Second Harvest Gleaners of West Michigan, which is a United Way agency. We also receive food from Ahavas Israel, Temple Emanuel Religious School, contributions and from Temple members who generously fill our food basket weekly.

All donations are sincerely appreciated and volunteers to assist in receiving, sorting and distributing food are always welcome.
